Landscape BIM Modeling Services
Renaid BIM Services supports landscape architecture and external-works projects with modeling and documentation tasks based on the agreed design information, project standards, and required outputs.
Overview
BIM support for landscape and site design
Landscape projects may include terrain, grading information, planting, hardscape, site furniture, and interfaces with buildings and infrastructure. The appropriate model scope depends on the project phase, design inputs, software environment, and intended use of the model.
Interactive
Site section: existing and proposed grade
Switch layers on and off, then select any element to read its properties. Cut and fill show where the proposed grade departs from the surveyed ground.
Gradient check applies to the lawn and bed surfaces. Limits come from the project’s accessibility requirements.
Landscape modeling support
What we can model and document
01Terrain and site elements
Model selected terrain and site-related elements based on the supplied survey, design information, and agreed level of detail.
02Hardscape modeling
Support the modeling of paths, paved areas, walls, steps, and other hardscape elements where included in the brief.
03Planting and landscape components
Represent planting and related landscape components according to the agreed modeling approach and available schedules or design information.
04External works documentation
Support model-related views, schedules, and documentation for landscape and external-works packages as agreed.
05Coordination with other disciplines
Support landscape model organization and exchanges with architectural, civil, structural, or other project models where required by the project scope.
Sample output

| Tag | Type | Size at planting | Qty | Zone |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T-01 | Tree, deciduous | Container, 3 m | 2 | Plaza |
| S-04 | Shrub, evergreen | 5 L pot | 36 | Planter bed |
| G-02 | Groundcover | Plug | 120 | Slope |

FAQ
What landscape elements can be modeled?
The scope can include terrain, selected site elements, hardscape, planting, and external works, depending on the supplied information and project requirements.
Can landscape models coordinate with building models?
Coordination requirements and exchange formats can be agreed as part of the project scope. Compatibility depends on the software environment and model inputs.
Do you provide planting schedules?
Schedules or related model documentation can be discussed when suitable source information and clear requirements are supplied.
Can you work from 2D landscape drawings?
We can review the drawings and any supporting survey or reference data to determine a suitable modeling scope and identify information gaps.
Quick answer
What is landscape BIM modeling?
Landscape BIM modeling represents terrain, grading, hardscape, planting, site furniture and drainage as model elements with data, so landscape and external-works packages can be documented, scheduled and coordinated with building and civil models. The level of detail depends on the design stage and how the model will be used.

Landscape BIM FAQ
Can you model grading and cut and fill?
Terrain and grading can be modeled from survey and design information. Cut and fill outputs are indicative and should be verified by the responsible engineer.
Do you model planting with data?
Planting can carry tags, species or type fields, sizes and quantities so schedules can be produced from the model, where suitable source information is supplied.
Can you coordinate drainage with the landscape model?
Drainage elements can be represented and coordinated where the scope and inputs from the civil or drainage designer support it.
